Season 2 Preview - Transcription
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Narrator: Hey, y'all another season of the Truths and Promises podcast is coming your way. Let's have a listen to some of our amazing guests we have this season starting with another from the Walters' couch.
Mrs. Fashaw: It's not just the love you need, you need the peace because scripture tells us it's better to be on a rooftop than to be in a home with a nagging woman. So we don't want the women to nag.
Mr. Fashaw: You know what really deals with the man more than anything. It's not love that a man is so focused on. A man don't focus so strongly on love.
Whether you love him. A man focuses on respect. And see, in a lot of times people they misplace, they misplace it. Yes, you may love me and all, but do you respect me? A man will go off balance a whole lot easier if he believe he's not having respect, I'm not talking about foolishness. I'm not talking about, you know yeah. Yes.
So, the art work of a relationship with a man will always hinge upon respect because a man would know that you love him, but because you can love a man, but if you don't respect him, forget it. Love is the last subject, now. It's not even a conversation.
Narrator: We also have more from encouraging entrepreneurs who are figuring it out with God by their side.
Britney Harris: So this changes all the time, depending on the season that I'm in. In this season, like right now, today, it is Matthew six and it's verses 28 through 30. And it pretty much is just saying. Why you worried about your clothes? Think about the flowers. Think about the lilies in the field, right, and how they don't work.
They don't get up. They don't go clock in. They don't pay taxes. They don't have to invest and save for retirement. They don't have to do any of that and yet they're clothed, they're taken care of. Right? So like how much more, pretty much, well, how much more will God clothe you? And it actually says, now if, if God, so clothes, the grass of the field, right? Will he not much more clothe you? Oh, ye of little faith. And that is my absolute favorite promise in this season because I'm in this transition period right now. Okay. So background, I quit my job and took a huge leap. Took a huge, huge, huge leap. So when I'm talking about leaps, I'm not talking about it to be cute.
I'm not talking about it just to make you feel good. I'm saying it because I'm living it. And if you've ever walked into unchartered territory, like, I don't know a lot of entrepreneurs personally closely who showed me the way. I'm figuring it out. Right. And I have to remember daily. How much more, how much more, how much more will he clothed me?
Narrator: We also bring back a truce and promises veteran. Who's bringing more knowledge and wisdom to our show.
Ramel Moore: Matthew 6:33 would be kind of my truth scripture, seek ye first, the kingdom of God and his righteousness. And I will add all these things on to you. I paraphrase it a little bit, but that's kind of the bulk of the scripture is just, my life goal is to be a seeker. I just want to chase after God over and over and all the time and just be in his face and be in his presence. And that's really my life calling is to just be a seeker. And then the scripture clearly says that as you seek the kingdom, there's some things that are going to be added to me. So that's the promise, right?
I love that promise. The promises are very simple and clear. Uh, agreement, seek and add. I wasn't the best at math, but I could put those two together and make some numbers out of it. So that that's my truth and promise scripture.
Narrator: And to finish out our preview. We have a new guest to the show, Dr. Reynolds, who is talking about hardships and the calling that Christ has on our lives.
Dr. LaNise Reynolds: Yes. I tell you, I don't know, this is not some people don't really like this scripture as much as I do, but it's been a blueprint for my life.
I've went through a lot of hardships and still do endure a lot. Lot of people, they see the smiling, you know, the motivational grace on my life and all of that. But, uh, this anointing, this call has definitely cost me and I'm still paying for it. Like all of us is as a Christian. You know, if you're a Christian, okay. You either. I like my best friend was, she said, Vicky Mosley. She says something was so phenomenal, one day. She said, you either about to enter a storm, or you're either in the middle of a storm or you are actually about to exit a storm. And that is like the cycle of a Christian. You know what I mean?
So it's how we process the storm though. All right. What I'm learning is how we process the storm dictates how long we going to stay in the storm. So with that being said, my favorite scripture, that I've stand on, since I've been a believer, it's always resided with me is in Romans eight and eighteen.
And, um, I'll read it here. In the King James Version, it says "For our record that the suffering of this present time will not be compared to the glory of the Lord, which will be revealed in us." The suffering of this present time, which will not be compared with the glory of the Lord. I like the amplified as well for it says, "For I consider [from the standpoint of faith] /come on with somebody/ that the, sufferings of this present life or not worthy to be compared with the glory that is about to be revealed in us and in us." That's just something else. There's so much to take from that scripture. But that's been my scripture because when I'm in a tough season or I'm either going in a tough season or if I'm either coming out of one, all right, I'm always got my, I always got my mind on the glory.
Narrator: That was just a preview of the amazing episodes that we have for you in season two of the Truths and Promises podcast, we're going to be talking about godly friendships, community, accountability, and trusting God.
